In the financial year (2022-2023), India’s non Basmati rice exports showcased remarkable performance on the global stage. Benin emerged as the leading importer, securing a significant quantity of 1,557,691.02 metric tons valued at Rs. 4,265.88 crore (USD 529.21 million). China closely followed, importing 1,504,097.77 metric tons worth Rs. 3,896.84 crore (USD 494.96 million). Senegal was another prominent importer, bringing in 1,332,725.29 metric tons valued at Rs. 3,470.97 crore (USD 432.65 million). Cote d’Ivoire and Togo also stood out, importing 1,210,505.32 metric tons and 940,020.79 metric tons respectively.
These figures underscore India’s strong presence in the global non-Basmati rice export market. The consistent export volumes and values to top destinations like Benin, China, and Senegal emphasize the international demand for Indian non-Basmati rice, promising a lucrative future for India’s continued dominance in this sector.
