In the financial year 2023–2024, India’s non-Basmati rice exports demonstrated exceptional performance, with Benin emerging as the top importer. Benin imported 1,280,333.23 metric tons, valued at Rs. 4,236.01 crore (USD 512.6 million), at an average price of USD 400 per metric ton.
Other major importers included Guinea, Togo, Vietnam Soc Rep, and Cote d’Ivoire, further emphasizing India’s global appeal in the non-Basmati rice market. The exports were majorly driven by IR64, Broken rice, Sona Masoori rice and other verities include Jeerakasala rice, Palakkad matta rice etc. achieved remarkable success in the financial year 2023–2024.
