Basmati Rice export data from the DGCIS reveals promising export analytics for India’s Basmati rice, showcasing substantial growth in both quantity and value. The financial year 2022-2023 saw a surge in Basmati rice exports to 4,558,972.2 metric tons, which translates to 182,359 containers (25 metric tons each). This marks a significant rise compared to the 3,948,161.02 metric tons exported in 2021-2022, highlighting notable rice export trends.
Export market analysis indicates an upward trend in the average price per metric ton of Basmati rice, reaching 1,050 USD in 2022-2023, compared to 897 USD in the previous year. This suggests a growing global demand for Indian Basmati rice, reflected in higher prices and export values.
These figures solidify India’s position as a leader in global rice exports. Its aromatic and high-quality Basmati rice continues to capture the preferences of international consumers, as evidenced by the consistent growth in both export quantity and value.
